Identification

A photograph of the nameplate is enough. Part numbers are not published on this site. The nameplate carries the model, the build and the serial, and those three identify every consumable and wear part on the machine.

Where the nameplate is unreadable, a photograph of the equipment and the plant tag number are normally sufficient. The quotation states the genuine part, its origin and its lead time.

The technical position

Storage temperature and certification

Food-grade lubricants are typically specified for storage between 0 and 40 °C. A store room in a plant with 40–45 °C ambient exceeds that range for much of the year, and the charge entering the machine has already lost service life. The oil is visually unchanged when decanted.

What is actually happening

Additive depletion in storage

The base oil tolerates heat. The additive package depletes with temperature, and the depletion is not visible on decanting. The panels show the same drum held in two store rooms over twelve months.
