Identification

A photograph of the nameplate is enough. Part numbers are not published on this site. The nameplate carries the model, the build and the serial, and those three identify every consumable and wear part on the machine.

Where the nameplate is unreadable, a photograph of the equipment and the plant tag number are normally sufficient. The quotation states the genuine part, its origin and its lead time.

Equipment is rated at a reference ambient

Drives, contactors and switchgear are rated at a reference ambient temperature. Above it the equipment derates: the same unit delivers less continuous current, and expected service life falls. The derating is normal and it is not stated on the nameplate.

An unstable supply increases the duty further.

Why this category is carried

Switchgear and control equipment account for approximately fourteen percent of current supply, and they are the first category ordered by a plant returning to service after damage.

What is actually happening

Permissible current against ambient temperature

Rated current is stated at a reference ambient. The curve shows the permissible continuous current as the panel-room temperature rises above it.
